Cindy Sheehan on Hillary Clinton

This is from a January 8 entry in Cindy Sheehan's blog in response to her famous crying incident in New Hampshire:
She showed no emotion when I met with her along with another Gold Star Mother: Lynn Braddach from Oregon, whose son Travis Nall was also KIA in Iraq. We poured our hearts and souls out to her and she hardly even blinked, let alone shed a tear for our heartbreak that she had been a major neo-connette chearleader for.

That meeting happened in September of 2005, just a few short weeks after we left Camp Casey in Crawford, Tx on August 31, 2005. Anti-war sentiment was high and the apex was a mass march and rally that hundreds of thousands of like-minded (many for the first time) attended in the belly of the evil empire on September 24th. Since then, the motivation and energy of the anti-war movement has ebbed and flowed with each subsequent fresh assault on peace and democracy by BushCo with the help, support and justification of “Democrats” like Hillary Clinton.
I particularly like her characterization of Hillary Clinton as having been "a major neo-connette cheerleader" for the war. Unfortunately, a lot of voters now seem willing to forgive and forget Clinton's early support for the war, her refusal to apologize for that support, and the subsequent lies that she has used to justify that early support. And even recently, Clinton has talked about leaving US troops in Iraq through 2013. But Cindy Sheehan has been directly touched by the war that Hillary Clinton voted for and supported. Cindy Sheehan has good reason to be angry.

Does anybody care what Cindy Sheehan cares about ANYTHING? She's more proof that the far left can be equally as goofy as the far right in my most humble opinion. Sooner or later people will find out that their emperor, their "peace mom" has no clothes. Whoa! A naked Cindy Sheehan! Now their is a SCARY thought!

Why is politics often characterized by such brutal viciousness? It has made me strive for being apolitical. Those comments about Cindy were really offensive, and a lot of the commentary about Hillary is also extremely repulsive. It is sexist to sexualize women.

I disagree that Cindy Sheehan's comments were offensive. On the contrary, I think they were right on target. She had a son who was killed in the war that Hillary Clinton supported, for God's sake. She saw firsthand how cold and calculating Hillary Clinton is when she told Clinton about her own suffering over the death of her son.

What I find offensive is not Cindy Sheehan's comments, but Hillary Clinton's early support for the war in Iraq and her subsequent lies to justify what she did. And Cindy Sheehan has a dead son as a result of the war that Clinton supported. I say, to hell with Hillary Clinton.

Some politicians are conniving liars, and they need to be called on it.

I said I find the comments on Cindy to be offensive, ala harvey. And I believe that Hillary was misunderstood and is being smeared. I am not getting involved in this. Cindy's son chose to join the army, right? He was not drafted, correct? This is the last post I am reading on your blog, I deleted it from my subscriptions. It is too antagonistic for me and I disagree with your politics. Thank you for your hospitality.

You aren't going to read my response, but I feel that your comment deserves a response anyway. Hillary Clinton is not being smeared. While I was out in the streets protesting against the war in Iraq, Hillary Clinton was cheerleading for the war. This is a fact, not a smear. She supported the war, taking the wrong point of view on the single most important issue of the last decade. And now she refused to apologize for it, or admit that she was wrong. She lied and claimed that her decision to vote for the war was contingent on certain conditions, and yet she voted against the Levin amendment that would have imposed just those conditions. There were some 20 Senators who were smarter than she was and who voted against the war in 2002.

I have nothing but contempt for Hillary Clinton. She stood for imperialism and unnecessary war, while those of us who opposed the war stood for peace. This is not a smear--it is a simple fact.

Unfortunately, too many people are willing to forgive her for this. I will not do so.

I said I would not read any more posts by you but I would finish this out. I don't respect your position. You are right you are a heretic. Hillary is not a liar.

Well, if you say she isn't a liar, I guess that proves it. The power of wishful thinking is great, isn't it? I back up my evaluation of Hillary Clinton's character with a discussion of her votes and what she has said and how what she has said is at variance with the facts. And your answer is just to put your hands over your ear and insist that you don't want to be confused with the facts.

This is one reason why politics in the US is so screwed up. The Hillary faithful just don't care about what kind of person she is--they support her anyway. Very, very sad.

I never said I was a Hilary faithful, I am faithful to God. I can't take your bitterness. I have enough problems in my own life without taking on yours. Again, I must take my leave of you. This blog is not good for my mental health. I wish you well.
